‘Please Disregard the Rumours’- Obanikoro Denies Defecting to APC

Former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, on Tuesday, refuted reports making the rounds that he had defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

There have been reports that Obanikoro, a Chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a strong loyalist of immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan, is planning to defect to the APC to revive is dwindling political fortunes but he has consistently denied the reports as rumours.

On Tuesday morning, another report emerged that the former Nigerian Ambassador to Ghana announced his defection at a press conference in Lagos. But the politician, via his Twitter handle, denied the report as “rumour” and “imagination”. He said he was at an event organised by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of APC leader, Bola Tinubu, at her constituency which also happens to be his’.
