Victor Moses On Target As Chelsea Return To Winning Ways Against West Brom

Chelsea ended a two game winless run with a comprehensive ‎3-0 thrashing of West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge in the Monday night fixture of the English Premier League.

The Nigerian put Chelsea two goals up three minutes after the hour mark with Eden Hazard giving them the opener in the 25th minute from an assist from January signing Oliver Giroud.

Hazard put the game beyond the reach of West Brom in the 71st minute by scoring Chelsea’s third goal, and the win move them up to the 4th on the log standings.

The goal was Moses’s second of the season after opening his season account with a goal against Brighton and Hove Albion on the 20th of January in their 4-0 away win.

Last season the Nigerian who now plays as a wing-back contributed three goals as Chelsea cruised to the title and with as many as 11 matches left to play this season, he ‎is well on course to match his last season tally.

However he won’t be able to match his last season league appearance of 34 not thanks to injuries and fitness issues which has seen him play just 19 times this season with 11 matches left to play.

Alex Iwobi sweats to be fit for Sunday’s League Cup final against Manchester City

Alex Iwobi

Alex Iwobi is sweating to be fit for Sunday’s League Cup final against Manchester City after he was replaced in the closing minutes of his side’s 2-1 Europa League loss to Ostersunds.

Manager Arsene Wenger had suggested that the initial prognosis was that the Super Eagles forward only suffered cramps, which forced him to haul him off in stoppage time.

But ahead of Sunday’s League Cup final clash against Manchester City, Wenger has now admitted that Iwobi’s fitness is questionable and the Hale End Academy graduate will be closely monitored in the next two days.

”From Thursday night, we don’t know what kind of state Alex Iwobi is in, for example,” Wenger told reporters.

”We will know that today and tomorrow. But overall, we have no injuries from last night. Some players were rested, they are alright.”
